Update, I removed and cleaned the EBP sensor, tube down to the exhaust manifold. Not very dirty. I also removed and cleaned the MAP sensor port on intake manifold. Removed all duct work and checked for holes/cracks, found none. Put everything back together, fired right up. Could hear turbo spool up nicely, early boost noted on gauge when first pulling out. Got about a mile down the road and started acting back up. Died three times, a booger to crank back, limped it off the road and there she sit's! Idles right where it is supposed to, then idles started having a few misses. Turned off and well...still there!! I'm about ready to put a 50BMG round between the head lights and call it a day.

Still not had it scanned yet.

Got to get live data to look at the HPO system. Unless you want to do an air test blind assuming there's an HPO leak.

OK, finally got it scanned. Everything checked out except for the ICP sensor. It threw same codes 3 times, and every time we had just cleared them! Checked the sensor and it had some green discoloration at the electrical connection. So I guess water had gotten in there when I had worked on replacing the injector and FICM. I don't know if it's bad or not a bad connection. Can I clean it some how, or just replace the sensor and pigtail?
Oil pressure would run idle at 840's+ and revved would go to over 1000+.

get one from
you can unplug the sensor and see if it runs better.
look for oil closely inside the pigtail. if there is any, you will need to replace that also.

Why should you buy it from Ford?

-2 yr unlimited mileage warranty
-It's the correct sensor

Parts store sensors are never an exact replica of the Ford sensor and are usually missing a component or something was modified so Ford couldn't/wouldn't sue them.

Ask me how I know...

Unplug the ICP for about three days and see if the problems go away. If they do, it is a bad ICP sensor or pigtail. If they don't, it could be a bad ICP pigtail or the HPO system (IPR, leak, etc).

STC been replaced yet? Are hot starts more difficult than cold starts? If so, it points to a HPO system problem.

I've read some really bad stories about Advance sensors. And factory Ford part was only like $168 dollars. Auto Zone wanted almost $300.00

So Toreador Diesel, tell me how you know.
Is it a good story or a bad ending?

I bought ICP202 from O'Reilly auto parts for my 7.3 excursion. While driving down the road at the exact same spot every time, the truck would run rough as if it's about to die, but kept running.

As soon as I cleared the area, the truck ran normally. This is because the O'Reilly ICP sensor isn't shielded and RF and other frequencies can interfere with the sensors signal. The Ford sensor is shielded and doesn't have this problem.

Ok, update replaced the ICP sensor and runs great.
Now on to next project. Replacing the boots on the Hot side of the turbo and inter-cooler.
Who and where to buy from or stay away from?
