Hey everyone. So I have my bike up for 2900 and I got an email from a guy who says basically the bike has some sentimental value to him and he wants to trade for his 2000 lariat package 7.3 powerstroke with 330000 kms on it. It's got a little bit of rust on the back box but looks good otherwise. Is this a good trade?
We'd need a lot more information than that. $3,000 seems awfully low for that truck, but it all depends on the condition. I'd be asking why he'd be giving it away for that little and what may be wrong with it.

what info would u need? And he said it's cause basically he recognized the bike as his brother in laws bike who passed away and I guess jt holds some sentimental value.
If you yourself aren't mechanical and knowledgeable about the SD 7.3's have it checked over by someone who is. While it could be the dream deal of a lifetime, a diesel with that many miles could also quickly turn into a nightmare. Even a 7.3.

That's impressive mileage on a gasser even in km's. My point was that a poorly maintained or abused diesel in that mileage/age range could lead to some expensive repairs. Sounds like you got it covered with your friend, I'd definitely ask him to look it over. Besides the motor at 200,000miles(roughly) it may need quite a bit of chassis work like steering and suspension too. All depends how it was maintained and used.
