You can also tell by the build date that is on the driver side door sticker. Up to 12/6/98 is early 99 and 12/7/98 is late 99. The pedestal for an E99 sits lower as well which is another reason why you can't swap in a L99 turbo.
Man that thing is gutted. Better get some pictures of a good one and note all the pieces missing. That way you have a inventory to look for in the bed. If you have everything beside the turbo and tranny, then you may be able to make it a good truck.
Sweat equity looks like an understatement there though. That's a complete rebuild.
I wouldn't touch it unless your looking for a ground up build. Just plan to point the wallet at this one as you find missing or broken stuff as well as all the part upgrades and seals you'll be doing. Let's hope the motor is solid, but might as well consider a rebuild while it's out like that.
Good news is you have all the removal done and can make a ground up good truck. I may be off here though.
Well I was thinking since now it is missing the engine tranny and transfer I can just swap the ones from my truck to this one since my truck is getting over run by rust and those three things are in excellent condition just thinking of options
They make be in the bed under the body parts, can't tell. Look at it and get a good idea of what is there. Then let us know. If you are swapping out the guts from your truck, might be a great time to do all those mods that are alot harder to do normally.
