Something I haven't seen mentioned: The 9000s have adjustable dampening and the Bilsteins do not.
I've run more Bilsteins on just about everything than any other brand, so I'm a fan. If, however you have tremendous load differences, or run other tire sizes, you are more likely a candidate for the 9000s. That is why we run them (empty to camper + horse trailer, or a setting of 2 to a setting of 9). Even cooler if you get the in-cab adjustment -- I crawl around the truck each time I change them.
I also played with them a lot when I ran larger tires and found I needed to set them to 4, just to control the tires...
One thing I can't figure on any of them is what part numbers for mine since it's a cab chasis. I see glimpses where they say cab chasis but no5 where I am confident i4 is what I need.
Oh Sean--I guess they gor the fire put out?
Fire is out. Then the power went with it. Just getting power back in time
for the light to go away outside. Well really we still have light and some very
nice rain to damp down the smoke smell. Nasty smell.

I agree. Have not had dealings with that seller but have had a few times where I have not gotten the rebate
or they sent the silly prepaid credit card.
you think the Rs9000 are expensive for our trucks
look up basic shocks for a Toyota tundra (wifes) hell cheepo struts for my sons Taurus were more
Was looking at that for the explorer. Planning on the same front end work on it and was going to do shocks too until I realized all 4 corners are struts. No thanks--they are still good enough lol.

I did the rears on an 02 Explorer/Mountaineer. Not a bad job, esp. with a lift. Get the complete ***. Saves time and compressor tool.

Sounds like my dealings with Gabriel shocks. Put a set of 4 on my Ford Ranger, Buy 3 get one free. Sent in the rebate form and receipt, I got a letter back about 2 months later stating the receipt wasn't clear and the rebate won't honored. Ummm ok, it was Auto Zone not some schmuck fly-by-night car parts place.
Whatever, no Gabriel shocks for me ever on anything.
Either way, hard to beat Advance Auto, in store pick-up and online coupons, should end up getting each Rancho RS9000 shock for about $67 each.
I leave the fronts set at 4 and will adjust the rears depending on load... 0-2 Empty, 4-6 with ATV and have cranked it to 9 for heavy trailers.

I've been a Monroe guy for years but really haven't dealt with rebates and such just for the reason you described. 67 a piece is good for sure and I do lik3 the advanced online coupons just don't like the en stores I usually have to go to but they always have good service.

I really like Monroe Sensa-Trac for cars, Monroe is definately my go-to shock. I chose the Ranchos this last time for something different and the price was hard to beat.
