GAME CHANGER RANT

well I started thread a few days again confirming my choice to go to gas.

My son just ordered a 2016 F350 with a 6.7. I could not change his mind.

The game changer for me was I had rented a F350 6.7 for a long trip over 5 days last winter. First day no problem, rode great and lie meter reading 18.5. I thought I would hit 20 but still good . Put about 400 miles on it. Second day I put 1.5hrs on the truck and then all of a sudden a warning that I have only so many miles to go before speed reduction! I am in the middle of nowhere, -25.
Half hour later I pull into a small town. Truck is complaining it is too low on DEF. Funny gauge reads about a third left. I fill up the DEF tank
Problem solved...not so fast. Warning comes back on..DEF, low power reduction and sure enough speed drops to 50 wont go any higher.
DEF still says a third. Okay something wrong with sensor. I drive trying to get to the next major town and just got outside of the town and bang idle only.
Left me stranded at -25 with a perfectly running engine and bad emission sensor. That made up my mind!!
I am going to Alaska next year. I don't want to be driving with a cloud over my head..is a sensor going to fail and leave me stranded hundreds of miles out of the nearest town totally stranded.
Of what mindset has a perfectly running truck shut down on you because of a SENSOR failure????
I will spend more for fuel first
