My 97 F150 has developed a squeak from the left front wheel. It is not brake related because it maintaints the same pitch when the brakes are applied. It increases as speed inceases. I first thought it was a bad bearing but after looking at my maint. manual I see that the bearings are integral to the front hub. Has anyone else experienced this and have an idea of the level of difficuly and cost of parts to repair this?

cotter pin holding on that little lock piece over the wheel bearing nut loose? i had this on my grandpa 2000 f150 4X4, i could hear this squeek/rattle that would not change at all with breaking or what not, and i could hit the wheel and make it do it, and that's what it was

my 97 had the same problem it was the lower ball joint $80 part

 

This squeak is coming from wheel rotation, wouldn't the ball joint be more of a suspension movement squeak?
