1978 302 HP

This question may have been asked before but I searched and couldnt find what I was looking for. I just picked up my first Ford which is a 78 F100 longbed with a 302. My problem is that from the factory this thing is only rated at 130 to 150 hp. What is the cheapest way to get another 100 hp out of this slug while keeping it a dependable daily driver.

The first 4 basic mods you can perform are a better 4 barrel intake, compatible carb, better rockers, and last but in no way least, a better flowing exhaust. It may not get you 100 hp, but youll certainly feel the gains from these mods one at a time

I'm not sure a 4V intake/carb is going to do much for you with the stock heads. '70s 302s had 8.4:1 CR heads on them, and didn't flow very well. Swapping to the E7 ('87 & newer truck/Mustang heads) or GT40 heads off a later model 302 (more like 9.5:1 CR) would help quite a bit, and allow you to take advantage of the 4V intake/carb.
