Drag link adjuster

hey guys I am attempting to replace my drag link bar because the tie rod portion on the passenger side is bad. The problem i am having is that I can't( or better put don't know how to) remove the drag link bar from from the adjuster. please help!

What year is your truck?

Is it 2 or 4 wheel drive?

You should loosen the collar and then it will simply unscrew from said collar. Depending on how rusty it is you may need some PB blaster and channel locks to get it to move.

If the pb blaster don't do the trick hit it with a torch to warm it up a bit

I just did mine. After I got it off the pitman arm I supported it up with a tie down. Lots of penetrant and a butane torch got it moving after I loosened both lock bolts on the collar adjuster. Use a pipe wrench to turn it. A tip is to not jack up your wheels. Screw the new draglink in till it fits back in the pitman arm. This sets the length about the same. A couple turns on the collar should get your steering wheel straight.
