Well after spending over 1K dollars on my X's rear end, my X no longer moves except where I direct it to go. --Hellwig anti-sway bar, RAS, and Radius Rods. RR's put it over the top. I will share this observation--I took it to a local garage (In MT known as rapist anonymous) to have the connector plates welded on for the RR's and to cut off 16 inches of the rear traction bars. With only RAS and the Hellwig and no factory traction bars, it drove much better going home. I wonder if those snubber bars are introducing a destabilizing force. I can see how that could happen. Anyway, just another thought for the X library
Awesome David! I like the clean look of the new RRs. Arne did 'em well. They look fantastic in person!
Mine are waiting 'till I get a few days off from our latest contract. Got to get the OT while it's available I guess; I do hate when work gets in the way of my FUN!

Everything drops in place very easily. You may want to go work out at the gym. The lock nuts for the u-bolts are the hardest Ive ever wrenched on. The U bolts will never go anywhere. If I had to remove one, I'd just cut it off These puppies are built tough
I notice you didn't mention new leaf spring bushings, I assume you replaced those before you did the other things ? Sorry if I missed that discussion in another thread or it was just a given nowadays. Been awhile since I have been on this forum.
Hi David, I am considering doing the same with my Ex. Now that you have been through the install, do the radius rods allow for twist, or or they locked in tight with a jam nut. It is hard to tell from your picture.
Didn't replace leaf spring bushings. They looked ok and its a PIA dropping those and replacing those bushings but I can if I need to.(Gotta save some fun for later on) You can weld the brackets without dropping the springs--you just blow a lot of air over the spring bushings to keep them cool while welding
The way the radius rods are built, the bushings are what allow for rotational movement when needed. There is the one you see and another on the other side of the axle bracket as well. One of the really nice things is that these are built with an offset so that the rod is directly under the middle of the leaf. The T portion of the bar has heavy plastic inserts which allow for rotation around the bolt going through the "T". With the bushings, it appears that the Radius Rods could adapt to a torsional rotation force better than the leaf springs could.
I might actually consider trying this out. Installing my rear bar this weekend and going to see how it changes the truck
You're going to be blown away by the difference if yours had no rear bar. It's almost a crime that Ford didn't put rear sway bars on every one of these beasts!
