I know there are a few threads on this already, but I just spent an hour looking for them with no luck
I was at my junkyard this morning just wandering around killing time, looking for anything interesting. Ran across a sway bar on a dentside f-150. Don't remember what year it was exactly. But I can bring it home for $25.
So give me a quick recap on swapping them into bumpsides?
Also, what size bolts hold the big I-beam brackets that the end links bolt into? The big ones that also hold the springs. I need to know what BIG wrenches to haul in.

It's not much different than just swapping/bolting/drilling the system onto your rig. The most difficult part is grabbing the C-brackets pictured below. I took them off an 80s Econoline because it was already significantly dismantled.
However, the C-brackets have an indexing pin which fits into a slot on the nose of the radius arms. See 'em? An option would be to cut n grind the slots if your arms lack them. I recall '75 and newer arms already have them whether they were equipped with a sway bar or not. I grabbed the entire front suspension & discs from a '78 for my '70 project with DJM beams.
HIO Is the indent on the top or bottom of the radius arm?
I am installing a 78 front end in my 72 and the indent is on the top of one radius arm and the bottom of the other.

Thanks Pat.
The radius arms are notched on top and bottom so they swap side to side.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
Just to be clear, radius arms are identical and swap side to side. I-beams are side specific.
Haha, I forgot I asked this question already. So now I've finally decided to get to it. I'm on the search for a sway bar, then some new variable rate springs, and maybe even dual shocks. Should help out with handling a bit....

What diameter is the dentside bar, 7/8?"
With your 1971 F100 2WD .. I assume this is the bar you're asking about.
D5TZ-5482-A .. Front Stabilizer Bar (parts catalog doesn't list the diameter) / Obsolete
