Gear question
I am naive when it comes to 4x4 and gearing but i just recently bought a 82 Bronco so I'm looking for advice on proper gearing for my Dana 44 TTB and 9' rear. I have decided to keep and beef up the TTB rather than investing in a solid axle swap and i will be running a mild 393w, 400hp/400tq is what I'm shooting for with a TCI C-6 for the trans, I'm undecided on if I'm gonna run 31' or 33' tires. I will be using this vehicle as a fun weekend toy/ hunting truck/ get me to work when it snows truck so it will see roads and possibly the highway every now and then. Without having overdrive what gear ratios should i be looking at and I'm having trouble finding matching D44 and 9' gears, any advice would be appreciated I'm having no luck on the internet

What gear to you have now? With 31s or even 33s, you should be able to pull 3.50 gears with that motor pretty easily, maybe even something taller. That's great on the road, but not so great off road, where 3.7, 3.91 or 4.10 would be your friend.
The gear ratios will not match perfectly. A 3.50 9 inch might pair with a 3.54 Dana, or 3.7 with 3.73 etc. They do not have to match. And that's why you don't use four wheel drive on hard surfaces.

I have 31x10.50 tires on now and I'm not sure if the gearing is stock I haven't ran the codes on the door, I'm thinking of sticking with that tire size and I am looking at 3.5 or 3.73, I just got this Bronco and I'm trying to plan it out, the 393w roller motor and trans are my priorities now but I'm doing gears and axles next
