Has anyone repaired/renewed a Custom Cab vinyl covered dashboard? Mine has a 5 inch crack on driver side near windshield(which is now out of cab)?
If you've successfully repaired, what kits/materials did you use?
All suggestions welcomed.
Thx. Jeff

I asked a similar question on another thread. Here is the reply I got...

Wow, $?? I may try a 'do it myself' or explore getting quote from local upholstery shop, if not successful DC may be a source? Any upcoming Car Shows/Swap Meets scheduled in your area suggest check out the work on their vehicle and inquire as to 'how to repair' or their source.
Few years back came across an article in CarCraft Magazine on 'how to repair'; however, ran a search and seems Hot Rod has since, either bought them out, or rescued them so no longer have access to CarCraft archived articles.
Ran search under CarCraft 'how to' repair dash and came up with this link, may want to explore the link further? Anyhow, may find link interesting and/or food for thought. Anyhow, may find interesting and/or food for thought??
Yeah when I saw the price it occured to me I could repaint the dash, replace the windshield/gasket AND get a start on the small rust spot on the roof for the same money.
Mine isn't a custom cab and living in Las Vegas a new pad might not last anyways.
Despite having a dash cover on our 4 runner since it was driver off the show room and it did not prevent the dash from developing a couple of serious cracks. Few months back came across a thread where T4r member posted pic's of his attempt to recondition the dash. I have not taken the time to review the info in the links I posted to determine if same, or similar, to the info in the link below, may provide info on other dash repair products, anyhow food for thought? Still waiting other member's input, and pic's.
