...I forgot to ask what I originally posted for...
is a replacement padded dash available or is there a company.that can redo them?
Dennis Carpenter and other vendors sell the dash pad. According to ND it is actually being made by Just Dashes in CA. They can also re-do your original dash pad if you ship it to them. I had dash, door panels and console redone by Just Dashes for my Trans Am. With shipping back and forth and the actual work they do, you *might* be money ahead buying one already done. They also typically have quite a lead time but it can vary some. Give them a call and see what they can quote you and how it compares pricewise to a new one.
Now that everyone knows the cost and time involved to do a full high end resto, this 11k mile truck does not appear to be a bad deal! http://www.ebay.com/itm/Ford-F-100-ONLY-11-754-DOCUMENTED-MILES-/391288410372?forcerrptr=true&hash=item5b1a9b5104&item=391288410372
That's an extremely well preserved truck! I'm more partial to short bed trucks but I could live with that one...
I have an original paint and matching numbers '64 VW sunroof bug, I wouldn't take 10 pefectly restored cars for it. There's no comparison between a well-preserved original paint classic and one that's been restored, once they're redone they just lose so much character.
Too bad this ebay truck wasn't closer to your shop astronaut, It would be a great opportunity for a professional bodyman to personally inspect the quality, fit and finish. Your assessment of just how well Ford painted and put this one together would be interesting.
Amazing truck, if the paint is original (and it appears to be). However, Schmitt & Co is pretty notorious for lightly "restoring" their cars, though they never seem to give much detail about what's been done. They're also always VERY high priced.
One thing that catches my eye is the blue overspray on the drivers exhaust manifold. Seems like that would've burnt off in 11k miles. Hmmm.
Are those the correct wheel covers for a 66? I can't remember for sure. Seems like they are a later vintage but I'm not sure. Anyone know if these were the deluxe caps for that year?

Just going by the pictures it seems to have better panel alignment than the '66 we restored. Great truck and the pictures are a huge help to determine "correct" details.

Those are the correct wheel covers, also came on later trucks. My grandfather bought a new '69 Ranger (black/red interior, short/styleside) that has those covers. Off topic but... I'm trying to talk dad into getting it out of the barn and back on the road, it's a very solid and straight original paint truck.
I have seen pictures posted of a 6-7k mile C10 that still had some overspray on the manifolds, but it wan't that noticeable and it had less miles. I'd say it's been touched up.
We had the truck out at the local Father's Day Downtown car show again this year, along with my recently completed '63 VW Convertible. The truck still looks as good as the day we finished it three years ago. The owner has taken great care of it and the materials we used have held up with no signs of age.
Photobucket has changed their terms of service and now no longer allows hosting pics on forums like this unless the account holder pays a $399 yearly subscription fee. I won't be paying $399 a year so the pics won't be back up from photobucket unless they decide to become more realistic with their premium membership pricing.
I can take the time to edit each original post to restore the pictures by uploading them directly to the site, but I don't have the ability to edit old post.
Too bad none of the pictures are visible.I was able to get some to be visible. I also visited your photobucket page. You surely do some awesome fab work. Fantastic!
