Man, it seems like Christmas at my house.
Tank came in, bolted in, hooked up, double checked some if **** work, he did a good job. Fuel, P/S fluid and the chingadera on the back side of the instrument panel for the fuel gauge (voltage something something) and she's ready to crank. Oh, have to remount the seat too.
This late night wrenching is taking a toll on me. I'm stoked, ready to get this thing moving under her own power.
That reminds me of a joke.
You know what the difference between being involved and being committed is? Well. think of it like a bacon and egg breakfast. The chicken was Involved, but the pig was Really committed.
10-4 JEFFFAFA, I feel like the pig.
I got everything buttoned up. Put 5 gal. gas in it, gauge works. 1st time in 15 years I know. Primed carb, hit the key and SHE'S ALIVE!!!
We drove it a good spell and ran great. I did learn TIT has a hose and line tightening deficate.
Went to put her in her home (the driveway) it seemed as if it was hitting on 4 cylinders. Cleared up enough to run.
Talked to a friend and told me what I thought I knew, but didn't want to hear. I'll be pulling the carb apart and blowing out the holes sense we ran her with rusty gas.
I think she's jealous, we stopped and looked at a 68 Chebby truck before getting back home.
Hey Teach, don't ya just love technology? Here in Baja, they bring the gas over from the mainland, in a rusty barge, then put it into 20 year old storage tanks, where the tanker trucks use gravity, to tap off the bottom..?? yeah, well close to the bottom.. anyway, then the tanker truck comes 90 miles, over bumpy roads which pretty evenly distributes the rust to every gallon. At our local station, the owner removed the in-line hose filters, to save money.
My solution to the water/rust problem, was to install marine water/fuel separator filters, with either a 4 micron or 10 micron canister filter, in my fuel line. All my fleet have them. Everything runs smooth since I did that.
LOL, that's what it autocorrected the first time and I thought I fixed it.
I meant deficit, but either way really....
Well....made my day! Thanks for the laugh. And, glad the truck is running again. I need to address the filters on my truck. I was just running it a bit to get to know it, but I think it is time to spend some effort making fluids and systems clean.

I used Parker/Racor #3227 filter with water separator. Works great
GREAT!! School started and I lost my playmate, Not to mention a said Holley carb is soon to find its way across the alley....
Send me that bad boy. I'll straighten it out. Did you buy that Holley on EBAY. Recently I rebuilt 2 Holleys for a fellow FTE'r. He and his neighbor had bought them off EBAY. Both of them had missing parts either internally and/or on the outside. BOTH! Luckily I had the needed parts in my stash. There is No Way a novice could have ever made them run right.
It is second hand but not C/L. I will do the carb and choke spray trick when I get home to make sure I have no hidden vacuum leaks.
I may send you 2, I need one for the green hornet.
Thanks for the help Jeff.
With help from our king (2) and his advice and being a sounding board, Elizabeth Love runs lovely. TIT got to take her for some hot laps around the hood. Someone else was uhhh .
Now, doughnut gaskets, wiper blades and to get the horn to work and we'll get her tagged and inspected.
We might do this bass ackwards and go to paint and body next. I really want the interior done first.
