2003 6.0l problem?

I just bought this truck a couple weeks ago.. I am having some type of issue, but I can't really get it pinned down. Here's the symptoms, and the ones I think that are tied into the same problem.

Truck just had fuel filters and oil change done. Used motorcraft filters and rotella t6.

When cold, truck feels like it's missing (if it was a gasser) when at idle. When driving, it's fine, but does the occasional miss when at idle until warm. Also, when I bought it, drove two hours, stopped to get diesel, when I went to start it it had a long crank, and then started. I know this points to HPOP, but I also have an oil leak, looking to come from upper and lower oil pan, but not sure.

Could this be the HPOP leaking, causing the miss, and the long start when hot?

Also on a side note, truck feels like it bumps when coming to a stop (directly after stopping) or when first getting on it, it feels like it's bumping.

If anyone has any idea, please lemme know. Tired of guessing.

The ICP is located under the turbo on a 2003 model, you need to change this and the pigtail if oil soaked. Romp, oil down the backside, surge and hard start would be the ICP. You need 500 psi of oil pressure to open the injectors, once the ICP is unplugged (easier on a 2004 MY) the program will default to 500 psi.

Alright, I'll give it a shot tomorrow and see if it changes. So you don't think the HPOP is a problem then?

Still pretty new to a diesel, and it's not near as easy to diagnose as my gas trucks have been. Thanks for the help.

If you have a way to monitor your engine, I have the Torque APP on my phone, it makes diagnostics better. From what you described I would check the ICP under the turbo, not easy to get to though. Throwing parts at the problem is expensive, diagnostics is the key.

AFA the bump goes, does the truck have a 2 piece driveshaft? If so the slip joint may need greased.
