IPR-IPS diags
Is there a way to check the IPR and IPS?
I do not want to pull the turbo.
No codes, FICM is good.
When cold, truck bucks under load, after she gets real warm she is ok.
If RPM is over 2500 everything is ok.
HPOP, IPR, IPS replaced 30K and 2 years ago.

my 2003 had similair symtoms turned out I had Diesel Fuel in the oil
so I smelled it and sshure smelled like Diesel fuel and the leval was High
so I let some oil out to get to a good oil leval and watched for a couple weeks
After 2 weeks it was high oil leval again
Changed all injector O-Rings and Problem solved ran Great
as far as ICP & IPR I monitor those with my scan gauge
without diagnostic tools about all you can do is check ICP with a DVM

Oil level is down one QT, and does not smell like diesel. That is about right for 3k miles.
I have a Phalanx that died lastnight, The screen went out.

Sounds more like FICM/stiction issue to me.

What weight oil are you running? If you're sure your FICM is good, and voltage doesn't always mean it is, then it sounds like injector stiction.

5W40 Rotella.
This morning it was 31 Deg. Started right up, Only small puff of smoke that cleared right up. Drove away fine, no bucking as long as the RPM was over 2k.

The IPR will usually act up at the higher rpm's - from what you posted, it doesn't seem like that is the issue.
Don't you get the ICP and IPR duty-cycle info from your Phalanx?

The screen on his Phalanx just went out.
It is a very strange issue that it runs well OVER 2K rpms and not down low. That sounds more like oil related than stiction.......

Yep, it is a strange one. I was able to get the phalanx kinda working. What should I be looking for on the dutycycle?

Gotcha
I didnt know the Exact numbers but new it had to be upto operating temp
That makes sense since the EOT is always Chasing ECT during warmup
thanks Cheezit
and the IPR should read around 14.84% at KOEO or around that

Ah - post #3. Sorry I missed it Steve.
Tim sold me a ScanGauge for my son, but so far I have kept it and it is handy to have (
). I can monitor the FICM voltage while running the truck. It is handy! Do you have the a scangauge or equivalent you can borrow (I know the Phalanx won't do it)?
