Replacement bed

The cross members on my bed are toast. The whole bed bounces as I drive down the road. I know the cross members can be put in. I'm also considering a whole new bed. I keep hearing about these companies that pull the beds off new trucks to install custom aftermarket bodies, then sell the bed. Does anyone know of anyplace in NJ, PA, NY, CT area that sells them?

Yup, check Craigslist. I'm in Jersey and was seeing bodies advertised in the Philly area.

I found several listed on eBay. The closest one to me was in Harrisburg PA, I'm in north west NJ. Of course the one in Harrisburg was the most expensive, Murphy's law.

I replaced three bed rails on mine this last spring. Wasn't hard. I also coated the whole rear of the truck in rustproof paint.

They looked like just some square tubing from a metal supply.

I bought metal tubing from a local metal supply. It costed me a total of $70 in metal.

I just had a local body shop replace my bedrails. They pulled the bed, sandblasted the underside, fabed up and welded in new bed rails, and also sandblasted and painted the frame from the cab back...1000$.

I was going to go with a 2013+ take off bed but I figured it would be easier to just have the rails replaced.
