As I was told this afternoon by Andy, the Manager of my local Discount Tire, Fed-Ex did not hold their end of the bargain for a 2 day air shipment of my 2 rear replacement wheels......
After holding a deposit of 1/2 the price of my OLD WHEELS from a VERY understanding buyer for over a month I had made a firm agreement to deliver the wheels on Saturday 9/12
As I am a man of my absolute word I had no choice but to have Discount Tire go ahead and mount the wheels (including the original 2 rears with the gouges in them.
They look real nice, and unless I pointed out the gouges to a stranger, they can't be seen.....
Andy spoke with the folks at Fed-Ex in my presence and made an agreement for them to "hold" the wheels at their depot tomorrow morning instead of sending them out on a delivery truck.....Andy has his assistant manager Zack going to get the wheels at 915am and I have plans on being at Discount as early in the day as I can to get the new, good rears swapped out.
Again, This series of problems is not Directly Discount Tire's, its more the Eagle people, and again, since I cannot deal with the manufacturer directly all I can do is work with Discount to get all this resolved........
Andy has proven once again, that he and his crew are there for me, and will certainly keep my business in the future.
Sorry the pictures aren't that good, shot them kinda quick just before dark tonight, and the right rear tire is absolutely filthy because one of the guys who was changing the tires and wheels flipped it though I had all my tires marked and told them so before they began the procedure--this will be fixed tomorrow when the rear wheels are swapped.
Thanks David!! You were the one I send a fender clearance light to a couple of years ago when I swapped to the smoked.......as you can see I have swapped back to the amber/red (in LED) as I didn't care for the smoked after all.....also swapped back to the amber cab lights as well....
Guys, I will be posting more pictures real soon of my finished project facelift......almost done now!!
Those wheels are beautiful. I see why you waited for them to come in. Good job on keeping on top of this long winded hassle. Big fan of the Alcoa look as I am a truck driver and my roommates dog's name is Alcoa.
I'm with you on the amber/red lights. I personally don't care for the smoked look.

Thanks! -There are several manufacturers of "replicas" of the popular Alcoa wheels, I am a semi-retired truck driver as well, still drive for a local courier company a few days a week (26' box truck)
I guess to each their own on the smoked lights........I tried them and tried to like them.......
I'm not sure if 2 aluminum rims will fit on the hubs. The center hole flange on my factory outer aluminum wheel is probably 3 times thicker than the steel wheel and there's only maybe 1/4" the wheels could move outward before the outer wheel starts sliding off the flat section of the hub to where the lug nuts will have to start taking up the load instead of the hub.

My thoughts exactly !I believe they are to thick in the centers!
I started to think about THAT and the fact that the original wheels, from what I can tell and understand were HUB-centric, using a standard lug nut with a built in washer, while the Eagles are LUG-centric, and depend on a taper on the wheel for the lug nut....
All in all, I'm just going to leave well enough alone.........
I do have a question though Smokie.....Are the decorative holes in YOUR wheels finished with some sort of finish or a paint?......reason I ask is my fronts look like the holes are unfinished, kinda like someone started to do something, then stopped.....doesn't look so nice to me for brand new wheels........
Guys, I'm REALLY not trying to pick these wheels apart, but want them right......certainly nothing Discount Tire did......THIS question is for the manufacturer.....
Tomorrow morning I head to South Florida (Palm Beach Gardens) to deliver my old wheels, and a friend who has his own line of automotive paint finish products and I will be working on my '03 Ranger, plus another guy is coming to try & remove a dent in my drivers door-(He is a PRO paintless dent removal guy.....)
From what I can see yours look to be a uniform finish on the insides of the holes......mine look, again like someone started to put some sort of finish on then stopped......looks kinda blotchy.....I'll grab a close up when the rain stops..
UPDATE: Eagle has again Dissapointed!! They shipped still ANOUTHER set of blemished rear wheels!! They have NO more good wheels available now!
They will not have any made until the end of October or early November!!
-Guess I'll just wait!
I think I'm due a phone call from someone at EAGLE now!! THEY h ave been paid for the wheels and they have sent blems/seconds.........rediculos!!
Next time I want to buy wheels EAGLE will be the furthest from my mind!!
