Has anyone ordered a replacement front axle-housing from Ford?
The part number my dealer is showing for just the housing is #2C3Z3010-AA, and he shows the same part number for my 2001 SuperDuty and my buddy's 2004 (internet search appears to show the same part number all the way back to 1999). Obviously, Ford offered two different front axles for the SuperDuty during that period (the early Dana 50's and later Dana 60's). Is it safe to assume that a replacement housing for any of those years will now be the Dana 60/Dana 248 if they're all showing now as the same part number?
It only makes sense that it would be...but I'd love to verify that with anyone who's actually seen one. Thanks in advance!
