Ya im getting over 2 times the 5.5 mpg . What good is that diesel for for 98 percent of the truck owners that use it as a car. I have a gas and a gooseneck trailer plenty of power. My old diesel cost more to commute at 16 mpg vs 14 i get with gas. Lots of advantages. Cheaper to buy cheaper to run and cheaper to maintain. And the trade in is still comparable to a way overpriced diesel
If you tow or haul heavy a lot, get the diesel. If you want to run in the mud, look up under the 6.7, better buy the gas. I wanted both, but chose the diesel, and I am just darn careful off-road. Fuel tank, DEF tank, DPF all hang low, and are not cheap.
i bought a new to me 2012 with a 6.2 a few months ago. i love it. i originally wanted a diesel but being 21 and on a limited budget i just wasn't going to be able to do what i wanted with the truck. My next truck later in life will most definitely be a diesel though. Also, 5.5mpg?! I'm getting 13-16 in mine with a k&n CAI and a fairly heavy foot
I am sure everyone has heard the analogy for BOAT. Bust Out Another Thousand. That is what a diesel is, just about any repair involves a bill over a grand.
Whyon earth would one get a gas supwerduty vs the powerstroke? I honestly don't understand any benefit? The loaner vehicle is a gas and it's awful imo. and gas mileage is even worse...it's avg. 5.5
Thanks for trying to kick this one up again. II would like to acknowledge the high level of maturity shown by forum members not getting flamed up by this. SD's are great working trucks with options available to meet the needs and wants of the individual owners. Different strokers for different folkers!
