I am looking at letting go of my 2011 F250, and stepping into an 02 Excursion. Its the 6.8 gasser 4x4 lariat edition with 126k miles. Worth 9600? Its looks to be in very good shape. But I've got no experience with the 6.8 motor. Any help would be awesome. Thanks!

I paid about that for my excursion with 150k miles. The market where you are at drives the price on these rigs. I could have got an XLT for 6500, but this one was extremely clean, no rust, all maintenance records etc. As long as your comfy with the price and its fair for the market your in I say go for it.
A couple of months ago we bought a 2002 2wd Limited 6.8L 103K white/beige in excellent condition for $10k. It had been garaged and well maintained. The driver's seat leather had been replaced. It was completely stock. It had a couple of small dents in the bumpers and a small scrape on the right side. We got it to pull our 2009 21' WW. We recently went from Socal to Whidbey Island,WA with the trailer and got 8mpg. Last trip to San Diego we got 9mpg. We love the car, runs great, quiet, smooth, seats 8.
First things I did to it were Bilstein shocks, Helwig sway bars, F-250 rear leafs, tow mirrors, 31 row trans cooler, F-250 dif cover, trans temp gauge and voltmeter. The suspension changes make an amazing improvement to handling & ride.
I've heard Ford increased the size of the hitch bolts which increases the tow ratings from 10k/1k to 12.5k/1.25k. Still looking at the exhaust Y-pipe.
