Hellwig rear bar - which setting?

Got the Hellwig rear sway bar installed last week and wow what a difference. I had installed the RAS and it had helped some, but the sway bar is certainly a night and day difference. I can drive it confidently with one hand now and I'm not afraid to make lane changes like I was before.

One opinion question - I set mine on the middle hole for stiffness. What are most of you using? I will be towing a camper with this in the near future so was thinking of moving it to the stiffest setting but wanted to see what experiences are others have had.

Can't wait to swap out the 193K mile OEM shocks for some Bilsteins now. I might actually enjoy driving this thing now!

Appreciate your input

omg 193k on the oem shocks mine were shot after 60k. But anywho, I set mine on the middle to start and was happy with how it drives and haven't changed it.

I set ours to the stiffest setting (shortest arm length) and it handles/rides great.
I also installed the larger front Helwig bar, Billsteins and stock F-250 rear springs. Our shocks were worn out at 103k.
Absolute must additions - car handles/tows great.
I have installed heavier bars on most of my cars over the years and love the handling improvement from every one. The biggest was a 1 1/2" bar on the rear of our '85 27' class C.
This is the first one that has adjustable ends. My thought is if you aren't going to use the stiffest setting put the smaller stock F-250 bar on.
Start off with the stiffest setting and after a few weeks move it to a softer setting if you don't like it. I'll bet most won't change the setting.

Appreciate the info. I think I'll try the stiffest setting just to see if I feel a difference. Thinking it may be a good idea when I'm towing at least.

A follow up question - I know that these end links have a tendency to wear out quickly and based on the design I can understand that. Has anyone upgraded theirs and used spherical ball ends (Heim joints) instead of the rubber bushings and sleeves? I know this may transmit a little noise or harshness to the frame but can't imagine it would be significant

I built a set of links for my front bar using heims and now a few years later the back rubber bushings are shot and i will be building a set for the rear. There is a Teflon lining on the socket side of a heim that wears out with use and they will make a clicking sound when the Teflon lining is gone , the clicking is the metal on metal making contact. Fwiw, heims come in several grades, I used the high end ones we use on our desert race truck and while they would be shot in just a few races they have lasted years on the Ex that sees plenty of desert dirt road miles.
