My 2003 Explorer still has the factory radio in it...just AM/FM/tape deck. I live in the Annapolis MD area which is between Baltimore and Washington DC...so I'm lucky to have no shortage on selection of radio stations here and the signals from all the stations are typically pretty good. At least in any other car I drive.
In my Explorer, I get a lot of "signal crossing" I guess you could say. And normally, in any other vehicle, this does not happen...but with my Explorer, it sounds like another radio station is trying to bleed over whatever I may be listening to and almost like the signal is weak overall.
The ginormous antenna mast is intact. Could there be some break in the antenna cable between the mast and the head unit? Or could the head unit just be going bad?
