Any pointer's on replacing kingpins in the truck. Is there a right
side up or wrong side up for the bushings? What things do i needed to watch out for so i don't mess this up sense this my daily driver. All my tie-rods are in good shape as is the pitman arm. I know that i will needed to get a front end alginement done on the truck after this done. What else am I missing? Do need any special tools at all? Other then one big hammer and a case of beer
You will also need a big torque wrench and a bigggggg pipe because they are torqued, to according to Haynes Manual, to 500 to 600 ft-lbs and will require a 3/4 or 1 inch breaker bar and cheaterbar for sufficent leverage. be sure the truck is securely raised and be sure not to topple it off the stands. I replaced teh ball joints in my 85 f-150 and my 12 dollar haynes maual was a life saver i recomend picking one up it also shows how to re assemble the king pins pushings and springs and other such things. Good luck, Ben
P.S. may require two cases of beer
