Thanks to the people who answered my last question. My new question is that if a 302, for example, has 302 cubic inches of displacement, what is it's equivalent in liters?
If I remember correctly, 1 inch = approximately 2.54 cm
Can you just convert 302 cubic inches * 2.54 cm/inch = 767 cubic centimeters? This doesn't seem right.
Is there a standard conversion factor to get from cubic inches to liters?
Actually in math when rounding to the nearst 1000 you would start at the right and go left. 4948.89 would round to 4949 which would round to 4950 which rounds to 5000.
To round correctly, you can only round once. Rounding multiple times results in the error you demonstrated. 4948.89 is clearly closer to 4900 than to 5000. The number 302 is itself rounded up from 301.59. Converting a 4 inch bore and 3 inch stroke to metric results 4942.22 cc. That's even more of a 4.9L engine!
