Brake problem or something else?

Hi guys I've been recently having some issues with my truck. Needed new brakes all around. Tore apart fronts and installed new pads. Tore apart rears and noticed my RR had been dragging a little. Was able to have rear rotors turned and installed new pads. Pads were the ford blue pads btw.

Truck was breaking fine and all seemed well. Then I started to feel sort of a pulse in the brake pedal. If I was on the brakes it felt like the brakes were grabbing and letting go almost like a warped rotor (even though I realize that is not really the correct way to describe it). Although the steering wheel doesn't shake when this happens. This was only a couple hundred miles since I had replaced pads. So I decided to remove front rotors and have then turned as well. I was told though that they were pretty close to the discard spec so I bought new rotors instead. They were the Bosch quiet cast rotors with lifetime warranty. I did reuse the same brake pads though since they were basically brand new.

After replacing the rotors I took the truck out for a drive and thought that the problem had gone away. Seemed to brake fine while bedding them in. But towards the end of my drive I noticed that the pulsing in the pedal was still there. Is this something that will go away as the pads wear in a little? Now when i drive it it seems to be that when I first start out the pulse is not really noticed. But as I drive the more it shows up.

What else should I be checking that could cause this to happen? Is it just a coincidence and not actually a brake problem but really something else? Any help is appreciated.

Truck is a 2005 F250 6.0 SC 4x4

My guess would be rear rotors...even though they were machined I'd still suspect them.

Why is the pulse in the pedal felt less (not as severe) after replacing the front rotors though? And pretty much gone when I first start driving?

Hmmm....good question...I'd almost guess when they machined rear rotors they didn't get them perfectly straight and as they heat up from several brake applications the fact they aren't perfect is more evident as the heat causes them to expand. This is just a theory and I could of course be way off lol.

Right. I was kinda thinking along the same lines too. A little hard to believe since they were fine when I first put everything on before changing the front rotors. And since I have only put on a couple hundred miles since. Although still possible I guess.

Yeah it's a tough one...if it's not the rear rotors...only other thing maybe is an issue with the abs possibly?

Thanks for your suggestions. I wish their was a way to isolate if it was front or rear. And left or right.

Well if it were the front rotors that were out of round you'd also feel it in the steering wheel as well as the brake pedal most likely. However fronts are brand new here.

I was wondering why I didn't feel the steering shake at all. That's why I was starting to think it was something maybe other than brakes.
