Good morning.
I have a 77 f250 4x4 with a 351M and auto trans. What is the thread size and seal angle of the trans cooler fittings at the radiator?
I am installing a B&M trans cooler and the barbed fitting have angles that are backwards. The female thread has a male taper and vise versa. The threads are 1/2" something. Are the angles 37 deg jic or 45 sae? Thread pitch? Looking for the correct barbed adapters.
You don't need an adapter for the fitting in the radiator. The fitting screws into the radiator, that adapts the 5/16" inverted flare of the hard line to the pipe thread of the radiator. When you remove the fittings that are screwed into the radiator, you'll see that the radiator is tapped for either 1/8" or 1/4" NPT. It's been a while since I had mine out and I'm away from home right now so I can't run out and look at mine, but I believe they are 1/8".
The first picture is what should be screwed into the radiator, the second is the fitting you'll need.
Wow, that second fitting is big!
