T8raff's 94

Hey everyone my name is Travis and this thread is to record progress and to ask questions about my newly acquired 94 f150. About the truck, it's a 94 with 350k on the body and supposedly 1k on a rebuilt 302. Picked it up for $700 with a fuel pump issue. Got the truck running on the back pump by jumping pin 6 and 2 and drove it home without a problem. Other than the fuel pump only problems are pretty much cosmetic. Some dings here and there, needs a new hood and wiper cowl. Has zero rust. Here is a pic of the new truck.

My plans for the truck are to get it mechanically sound, fix what I can cosmetically and put a drop on it.

Next post or two is going to be what I have done the past week. Mostly as a log for myself but I'm sure y'all will like to see it too.

First things first, went to the junk yard and picked up a few parts. Got a hood, wiper cowl, Sun visors, tail lights and the gas tank selector switch and plug. As soon as I got home I replaced the visors.

Old ones were nasty and these vinyl ones I got looked brand spanking new. Second thing was I wanted to get rid of the ugly euro style tails that were on it. The pair of stock tails I got were kinda sun worn so I tried to make them look better. Some wet sanding, red vht nightshades and clear coat later and tails look 100% better.

Now the fuel pump issue. I made a thread here and subford helped me out greatly. I found a good looking switch and plug for the gas tanks at the junk yard and thought what the hell, I'll change them out for ****s and giggles. What do you know, that seems to of been the issue. Truck runs now without having to jump pins 6 and 2.

This is the stupid switch

Decided to work on the hood I got next. It's fairly straight other than a little bit of pitting down on the bottom. Was the only spot I had to bondo. But after a lot of sanding the hood is ready. Still need to do the wiper cowl though.

Also took the grill off and painted it. Plan on getting a chrome one in the future.

That's it for now. In the middle of putting new gaskets on the engine and getting that ready to go.

Another update...

Put new exhaust manifold gaskets in, New spark plugs (Bosch platinum) and decided to plasti dip the hood so I could go ahead and put it on the truck. No pictures yet. Still need to sand down the wiper cowl then spray some dip on that as well. Hopefully I will be able to register it and get it back on the road Tuesday.

Pasaanger side hood hinge was all out of shape so had to heat it up and beat it back into shape. I need to respray plastidip on it cause it started coming off in the 50 times we had the hood on and off. But here are pics.
