Where do you get this app and how is the android device reading the sensors?

The owners manual and Diesel supplement are equally useless when it comes to understanding the clean exhaust filter light. I have six other Ford diesel pick ups two being power stroke seven threes but this is my first 6.7. It's 2015 F2 50 that I bought new in July and the light actually came on on the way home from the dealership and there was no explanation about it at the dealer. I still don't know how long it takes but every time sense that it has come on even if I'm almost home or where I'm going I keep on rolling down the highway for a Waze until I think it might be done . I think I'll get the scan tool yeah why didn't Ford just put another idiot light on the dash. Other than that I absolutely love the truck and the motor is amazing

I have found I need to run above 1500 rpm. I run in 5th gear rather than 6 even when pulling. Otherwise the filter will plug.

The OP didn’t say what year his SD is so not sure of the following for him. The regen msg doesn’t display in ‘17 and newer trucks but does in prior SDs, although briefly. You can have the dealer install the Regen gauge in the dash display so you can see where you are in the cycle.

About $1500 for a basic emissions delete and you won't ever have to worry about DEF or regens.

This is a really old thread. OP has a 2014 F350 according to his profile, the last post was 11/2015 before David Linnertz brought it back from the dead yesterday.

how would I pass my annual diesel emissions inspection and my curtesy under carriage check for emissions equipment when a DEP office counts 3 seconds of puffed smoke upon take off.

I got stopped for DEP inspection becuase my truck puffed smoke for more than 3 seconds during regen.....passed the under carriage and had current emissions test so I got a warning in writing rather than the 700 dollar fine for the 1st offense and the automatic inpound for the second offense.

Where do you live? I've never been stopped nor has the inspection place examined my truck for anything remotely emissions related. But I also live in a rural Texas town.

I also don't puff smoke. I tried "rolling coal" just for grins but can't get even close to it.

Long drives daily getting old

Lots of short trips do not allow the DPF to heat up enough to turn the soot into ash. Take it for a long drive often.
long drives are getting old having to do it 2 to 3 times a day Everyday!!

Thbis is not normal. Sounds like you need to get your truck checked out. Mine has only shown me that warning once in 7 years.

I understand but getting into a ford dealership before 3 months is almost impossible in my neck of the woods.

I would call around. I go to a dealer that is 30 miles away. I have a dealer 5 miles from my house but they suck.
