Thank you, it's a 2005 6.0, 265k miles. I just purchased it, the first week of July 2015.
Same day I bought it, went to the grocery store and got stranded. Turn the key and everything lights up but nothing, no crank. Absolutely nothing. Arc'd the starter solenoid, she cranked and started and I got home. Next morning she started right up, I turned her off, took a shower and came out half an hour later, crank but no start. All day, crank but no start. She'll start in the morning, but not again that day. Any day. Now she won't start at all, either turn the key and nothing but all the lights, out crank and no start. I think my ignition switch is the "nothing" issue because once I jiggled the worn key around and got it to crank.
My battery light would come on once in a while during a drive, then once it started chugging and the wrench idiot light came on while driving on the freeway 1200 miles from home. Tired to a Ford dealership who told me I needed a new alternator for $700 (Cheyenne, WY). I put one on myself for a couple of hundred bucks, no battery light anymore but she won't start when hot until yesterday, now she won't start at all.

Hey Ted, I've not yet used the scanguage, but on another thread of mine called "no start issue" or "hot start issue" or something like that someone posted a link to the scanguage codes for our truck, check that out maybe it'll help...our start a thread if you can't find one on the scanguage. Sorry I'm not much help

Your current status has nothing to do with your original header "EGR delete".

Could you start a new thread and maybe be specific to what its doing when you try to start it, like if it's cranking (turning over like it's out of fuel) or is it doing nothing at all when you try to start it (like a dead battery).

You'll get a broader response by starting a new thread.

Apologies, I was answering a question, but yeah, I got off subject and you are correct.

No need to apologize. Just trying to help you get it figured out.

Unless tuner overrides, the cel will stay on.
I see where some say it's great, others a PITA.
I have an '05 6.0L that is untuned. I don't even own a tuner. I have installed an EGR cooler delete (up pipe and coolant reroute tube) over 10000 miles ago. I left the EGR valve in and connected and have not had a single CEL or soft code set ever since.
