Rag joint to universal?

Rag joint to universal?
I have a highbiy on 44s with power steering. It's the 2wd box. Is there a way I can convert the rag joint to a universal. Or are the 4x4 joints and shafts the same as the 2wd shafts? And are they the same splines? The 2wd and 4x4 box

.. the spline is typically 3/4-36.

Did this with mine and like it much better my buddy has a lathe so we clamped it in there I drilled a hole in the joint and plug welded it too as well as welded all the way around. Turned out true and sttaigt
