my wife and i own a 2002 f350 7.3 crewcab normally in town it dosent use any oil,we took a 210 mile trip pulling our 35ft travel trailer and the truck went though a gallon of oil.... what gives?
im useing a sysnthedic hd diesl oil , and yes it was a gallon at once and my cold air intake tube drivers side is saturated in oil as well /////////??????????????????
PVC? Turbo? worn out engine components? ....Somethings sucking in the oil or its getting past rings and seals...as its doesn't just evaporate. Its using it somehow. Oil consumption occurs 3 ways: Its getting past piston rings or valve guides; its being sucked into the intake track and being consumed or there's a leak. Any puddles under it? Check the inlet to the turbo for oil, it should be dry. If you see oil the turbo seals are wearing out. Which would coincide with the heavy loading it just saw on your recent trip. How many miles on the rig?
