This is exactly what I was told. To add to it, i was told it's not a safety issues (which is complete crap) so we consider it normal. I was told their new vehicles do the same thing and they blame your driving not the truck if it does it.
Crystal, this is why I want to sell this truck! This is so wrong and Ford is blaming the driver for what is their lack of engineering ability to fix a significant engine problem.
So I chatted with the Ford service manager and he took the time to explain everything to me. I see now why Ford considers the regen issue a customer driving issue. The manager felt me towing once or twice a month at 7000 lbs and having a 30 minute commute was ample to keep the truck happy. As I said earlier, I've never had a regen problem since it was fixed in mid-2012. The problem is the extreme amount of power this vehicle has. Ford almost over did it. But at the end of the day, I can't deny how awesome I feel driving my big black King Ranch diesel and I just don't think even a top of the line Tundra could ever compare. BTW, they're going to install a front steering stabilizer shock (??) which they feel will help the death wobble.
The trucks just wants to have some fun once in a while and unleash those 800+ lb/ft of torque to stay happy haha. But at least they are working on your steering issues, I'm glad they didn't up the hp and torque for 2016(or did they?) so they can hopefully focus on things like the regen and other issues with the truck. Its time for the 6.7 to become the next 7.3 in terms of reliability. Then once its a solid truck they can add some more power. Just my opinion though.
I'd like to know exactly what the problem is? What's the regen issue? When my truck's system goes into an active regen there's just a momentary kind of bump in the power, almost like running over a piece of gravel and that's it. I've never heard of the problem and I'm curious.
When the truck goes into regen it will sputter and lose all forward power even if you push hard on the gas. Instead of going forward it will just rev. Then it will pop out of it and go back to normal. Mine hasn't done it since they fixed it 3 yrs ago but I remember it was very uncomfortable.
