Carb smoke or something else?
Hey folks, I have a 351m/400 and under heavy acceleration/wot it smokes, at first I chalked it up to carb smoke, I rebuilt the carb and its still there, doesn't smoke while ideling! No water in oil ect, it has true duel exaughst and it smokes out of both tail pipes.
Doesn't smell like oil, its a harsh smell can't really describe it.

White smoke is normally water, black is carb. 28yrs of drag racing if the smoke was white it was a head gasket every time. Not saying thats what yours is, im just saying.

Yes, white is coolant. And that usually doesn't happen until the engine gets good and warm. When does yours smoke? Are you losing coolant?

Not loosing coolant, happens any time under wot or heavy accleration, heat gauge never goes over 195

It's not a fog more or less a light to medium haze and it stops as soon as you let off the throttle, no matter of its warmed up or cold. I'll try to get a video of it and upload it but I don't get good service and it takes forever for YouTube to load a video

Then it may be an over-rich condition.

White, acrid smoke is coolant (antifreeze) being burned in the combustion chamber.

If it is that then the smoke probably isn't really white. But, in small quantities it might look that way.

Blue is typically oil. But it is unusual to have oil smoke only under heavy acceleration.
