I'm going to go pick up a 7.3 IdI tomm what size 2x6 or 2x4 box should i make to hold it straight up.

Use a big (shot) tire (or two, two will make it more bouncy but squareable)? That's what I've always done.

agreed with Macrobb. i just picked one up. i set a single tire underneath it and rested the oil pan bulge into the center of the tire. i ran ratchet straps for all 4 corners and drove it home about 70 miles. no issues.

i hope the box you're considering is pretty hefty, made of 4x4s etc. a 7.3 is no light creature.
