twin propane?

I've seen a few vehicles with twin 4 barrel carbs. I have an '86 F250 4x4 with a 460 that's on propane. Is it possible (or advantageous from a power point of view) to change the intake manifold to accommodate a second propane system (so it would be similar, in theory, to a twin 4 barrel)?

As far as I know the only benefit to more carbs is to let more air get into the engine. More air = more power (and carb can get more than enough fuel in, so air is the limiting factor). 460s generally seem to be more exhaust-limited though, so the best way to get more air into them is usually to let the air come out easier. Long-tube headers (for general use) or shorties (for real power up high and worse driveability at lower revs) are usually the first step. A cam, is next, head porting (or aftermarket heads) would be next. And you still wouldn't need dual carbs typically after most of that.

Any ballsy V8's here run twin Gas Research LPG/Propane carbs, they handle up to 1020 CFM.

For a mostly stock 460 a single mixer should be fine, I believe the magic number for the biggest Impco mixer is right around 300 hp. If you are running dual fuel it is well below that.
The gas research stuff is good but not that common up here.

Thanks for the info. My F250 460 is straight propane. I haven't met a dual fuel vehicle that I'm impressed with yet. There may be some out there, but any I've met can't keep up with my straight propane truck.
With truck, trailer, and load I've hauled a gross of 26,000 lbs. This is of course in prairie country, with a few decent hills. I wouldn't dream of any weights like that with this truck in serious hilly terrain.
