I'd sink some back up lights into that thing before bolting it on.. a flashlight has more lumens than OEM reverse lights.
I am doing custom lights where the originals are. Making a cover plate and using 3/4" LED lights for the stop/turn/tail and installing custom reverse lights too.
The spacer you speak of is on all the rear bumper mount brackets I've ever seen. Even the NOS set I've got on the shelf. But the step bumper brackets are not what I'm looking for. I've got plenty of those.
What I'm looking for are the brackets to mount the sport rear bumper. They are very different from the step bumper mounts and different from the Bronco as we'll. if I can get my hands on a set of the correct mounts, I'll fab up a bunch of them for future use.
I actually found a set that we're just flat steel that mounted up right. I'll see if I can find the websit I got them off of. Took a little persuasion with a mallet and a bench press but the mounted up and looked good.
I'm going to fabricate the tabs to use my Bronco brackets BUT... I'd sure like to own the damaged brackets you've got. I'm certain I can straighten them enough to build a pattern off of them. Then I'll fab up some sets for all of us !
I am going to fire up the smoke wrench tonight and get them off and see if they are usable or at least patternable?
I just scored a set of those along with the rusty bumper 2 days ago, salvage yard took it off for me. I was a little worried because I had said I wanted before I asked how much. Went back next day to pick up and he said 20 bucks, damn near ripped my pocket of trying to get my money out. That made my week, been looking for a long time.
I'll take a pattern if you don't mind to lay the main bracket out on a piece of paper and trace the shape and mounting holes. I've got Bronco brackets that I can use for the mounting bolt locations.
If I could find a factory set I'd build a jig and fab some up. I'd even pay to "rent" yours and send them back to you. Once I build a jig I could build a set anytime we needed them.
