my 88 f150 with a 5.0 is missing bad (driving my 86 for now) pulled injectors and well the pintle caps on a lot of them are cracked really bad and some have a big pieces missing. could this cause my running lean condition. fixed my vacuum leak so code 22 is gone (thank god) but im still having a bad idle and hesitation under acceleration. it clears up after 2k rpms. anyways any insight would help. the pic isn't of my injectors but its similar to the cracking and also remember that 3 injectors have a good 1/4" missing of the cap. thanks guys. also my plugs look good so its not dumping too much fuel since they aren't fouled
The corrosion around the terminals inside and on the rotor? That looks fine and mine has been worse. I clean mine off each year and usually though, mine always seems to fire off quickly.
both. im more concerned about the fuel injectors. and it seems that thats the only thing right now that could cause my lean condition and misfire. ive sprayed starter fluid all over and nothing. im at a loss

Fix what you know is wrong...you can get new pintle caps and o-rings to eliminate that as a cause. For that matter you should just rebuild them while you have everything apart.
i went ahead and checked out evan p's thread and i was wondering if i can use the 4 hole injectors.....seems more efficient. i will also be replacing my whinning HP fuel pump. my exhaust is loud since i have a cherry bomb on it and i cant even hear that with the pump.
aw darn i guess i will stick with the pintle style injectors. lookin for a rebuild kit now. kinda sad i have to take off the plenum again tired of takin that damn thing off
