What's under the headliner?

My headliner is falling down and it drives me crazy. I'm wanting to know if there is a halfway decent looking painted panel up there that I can just pull the headliner off and leave it off. Has anyone pulled this off?

if you are going to pull the whole thing out there will be metal roof exposed it is painted, if you don't mind that type of look and possibly some additional road noises then have at it, I would recommend looking into getting it fixed if able!

I'm definitely able, just not thrilled at spending more money on this old truck. I just got the transmission replaced at 75k miles. It's just an old beater for me. No air conditioning really makes me not want to spend money on it!

nothing pretty to look at, just some painted metal, some roof braces and wires.
Pull it off and then put up some Tite Seal to deaden the noise some. Wont look pretty, but will work and keep the noise down a little. One roll is around $10 and will do the whole roof and then some.

Myhead liner was falling down. The cloth is glued to a cardboard pannel. I puld the cloth of and scraped the foamrubber backing. The painted it with gray plasti dip. Looks fine that way. You wouldn't know it unless you reach up and touch it.

Can of headliner spray, clean the board up and glue the liner back to it. Takes a couple of hours and its back to nice.
