I need new map pockets but the only thing I can find are the fiberglass ones I need the carpeted kind. I haven't had any luck finding them new. Thanks!
I recall seeing them on several sites, but I don't remember which. I actually have the original plastic ones on my truck and can't seem to find any replacements... lol
Seems like they should be real easy to fabricate yourself. Just make a pattern using the existing ones out of real stiff cardboard. Dont forget to include spots for the panel clips. On the front of it attach a carpet pocket of the same shape. Run a strip of elastic banding throught the top of the carpet pocket and staple it to the back of the cardboard panel. the hardest part would be routing out hole of the right shape in the back for the panel clips, but a dremenl would easily take care of that problem. If you have the original, jsut take a careful look how they are constructed. It's really not too complicated. should cost you $30 or less to fabricate.
LMC Truck and NPD sell the plain ones but in my opinion they are both expensive.
Also they do not have the carpet. I suggest a JY.
I got mine there for $13.
Yea JY provided the ones I have now, better than my old ones but still not great. I guess I'll have to have a trim shop make 'em if I can't find anyone selling them.
The 1980-1984: Plastic moulded ones without carpet (Custom or base model with the convenience group) are the same as the ones with the carpet, (Higher trim option).
You will just need to take the carpet off the old ones and glue it to the newer ones.
Aftermarket companies do not sell the map pockets with carpet attached.
