harmonic balancer
If I took off my harmonic balancer on my 1979 f100, in the process I spun it a couple times and didn't notice the measurements on it until I put it back on, now I think I need a valve adjustment but I don't know how or even where to begin....anybody got step by step in structions? I also have a stuck lifter and need help with that also

Pulling the harmonic balancer will not effect timing no matter how much you turn engine. There is a procedure to adjust valves that isnt hard to do, it just involves turning engine over to get the valves in the right place to adjust them cylinder by cylinder. You dont say what engine you have but if I remember correctly the valve lash is adjusted to a certain torque measurement. Should be able to find it online. As far as a stuck lifter you might get lucky and it unstick itself but I doubt it. Probably have to change it out.
