I have been on the net for days and can't seem to find anything. You registered as an FTE member 5/15/2010, but didn't type a post until now. So why didn't you come here when the problem first occurred, instead of wasting time for days "looking around?"
I have the 300 I-6 with Borg-Warner T-87D 3 speed H/D manual trans, 1970 P350 step van (P Series Parcel Delivery).
The shift lever fits into the tube and socket assembly (shift tube), there are two different lengths of this part.
One is approx. 37 5/8" long, the other is approx. 41.54" long. Measure the puppy and post the info, I'll see if anyone has the part NOS (New Old Stock).
Shown as basic part number 7209 in parts catalog pic. If you want anything else, post the basic part number(s).
Thank you, number dummy I read the post when I have time , but with two jobs and family I stay rather busy , and with this problem I needed extra knowledge . thank you I will post the length and I think as long as I have it apart I will replace all of the top end stuff (ie ) turn signals and horn parts would think they would be getting brittle buy now thanks again, Mike

Look at the pic for the horn related parts above the steering wheel that fit onto this (shown as 14308) horn wire.
None of these parts usually don't wear out, so you probably don't need them.
Number dummy , I have decided to go with a floor shift , could you steer me in the right direction to get a stock complete floor shifter trans top plate , shift forks , the whole thing for a t87 d -148 f 1970 p 350

No such parts exist as 1952 was the last year that F1's (1/2 tons) came with a 3 M/T floor shifter. The T-87 wasn't available in F1's or F100's.
Borg-Warner T-87 H/D 3 M/T introduced in 1951 (initially in F2/F5, F3 Parcel Delivery), but all T-87's thru 1976 have the shift lever on the column.
I did make a mistake on the number it is a t87c not d on main case ,the top cover is t87 d but It dosen't make any differance if they didn't make a floor shift . thank you for your time !! if I want floor shift it will have to be a hurst, thanks again Mike
