Another AC question but different

Hello

all. Now that the '96 is driving down the road time to work out the
bugs. First one being the AC. Turned it on and just blows hot air. Thought it needed charged since the truck has sat for several years. Got set up to charge, started the engine and turned Max AC on. The compressor doesn't turn. Checked fuses. All fuses are good. Checked connections. Wires are good at the plugs. We just replaced the fuel pump, bowl and regulator and was leaning on the compressor a lot. Everything good there. Traced wires back into the cab and found this:

The plug is just hanging out. 6 pin. It's the plug for the AC because we ohmed it out. The question is: What does this plug into? There is a bracket just above where the plug is but nothing is hanging from it. My diagram says AC Clutch Diode. Can someone look at theirs maybe and let me know what goes there? Thank you

Have you looked at the back of the control panel? It looks like the plug that goes to the back of the switch to the left, but I am not positive.

It's not long enough to reach there. Everything has a plug on the panel. We have looked everywhere and felt where we can't see for something to plug this into. Nothing except the empty bracket is within reach of the plug.

Now that I look at it closer,it looks like its the plug for a brake controller. But you said you traced the wires, so never mind on that one. Someone will chime in here soon.

Time to eat some crow I guess. Don't know where the AC ties into that plug but it isn't needed for the AC to work. Before asking for help we are finding it seems to work well to take all of the connections apart and clean them really well. I are a mechanic lol (pronounced mek-i-neck). Thanks everyone for your help.
