Hey I picked up an entire body for around 700 and I am going to be tossing it on my diesel. I live in Michigan where salt is used a lot during the winter and wanted to protect my truck as best as possible from rust. I picked up some cans of Bed Armor from the local auto parts store and plan on using it for the bottom of the cab and in place of carpet on the inside. I also plan on coating the bottom of the bed. My main question is can I use it on the interior of the front fenders? My engine normally runs at 200 degrees and I can't find anywhere if the bed liner can withstand those heats. Has anyone tried, and if it won't work, what is an alternative option. A lot of hours are going into this truck and I want to do it right, but at the same time am a college student with limited funds.
I know nothing stops rust forever rust, but I want to do all that I can to try to prevent it as best as possible, and undercoating seemed like more of an attention grabber than bed liner. And even with carpeting the cab it extremely hot, the windows are almost never rolled up.
