Well, I've done pretty much all I can do for now. I think it turned out alright for a first-timer on a sub $100 budget.
I took some pictures, but I can't resize them right now, and they're too big to upload. (I think)
One of my favorite things is that I replaced the windshield wiper and headlight ***** with these cool volume ***** used on guitars. I found these really cool chrome knurled metal ***** with skulls on them! I took a picture, but it's blurry. You can get the idea.
I tell you, the **** for the light switch does NOT want to come off it's metal rod! I had to slice through it three different times with a Dremel, and then carve off the rest with a sharp knife!!!
Anyway, thanks everyone for the help, and I'll try to get the pix up somehow.
I need to buy a set of black inner door panels and some new window cranks to complete the interior. I've only ever seen the panels at J.C. Whitney, and they were about $100 if I remember correctly. Anyone else know where to get nice ones?
Thanks Dennis, but I wanted to go the custom route anyway. So, you have five of them lying around, huh? Do you just run willie nillie through the neighborhood, pulling headlight switches from old Ford trucks, or what?
I'll have to look into those panels on ebay, thanks for the tip, Connie!
A common practice it seems is to pull as hard as possible on it instead of reaching behin the dash and pushing down the button on the switch.
Same goes for W/W switches.
