I just purchased a 2011 f350 xlt SRW with 18" aluminum wheels, and notice it has a yellow sticker on the door pillar stating that the wheel nuts should always be tightened to 300 ft lbs...
Now this seems a little extreme, I don't believe my torque wrench even goes up to 300...
Is this bona Fide? Assuming not, then what is the recommended torque setting for SRW aluminum wheels?
look again at your sticker. were you looking at the metric equivalent. my 2015 manual says 165 ft/lbs. or(224 Nm). should be in your manual under tire change procedures. if you dont have a manual you should be able to download one online from Ford website.
mine says retorque again after 100 miles after reinstalling any wheel (and again at 500 miles for a dually wheel)
Excellent, thanks for all the responses! I downloaded the Owner Manual from the Ford site (thanks Elmer!), and indeed it specifies 165 ft/lbs. I'll rip off those stickers! Thanks again for your help!
150/lb/ft on an 11 F250. Be sure to put a drop of 30W oil between the nut and integral washer then spin the washer around to distribute the oil evenly or you wont get an accurate torque. Its all in that lil book in the glove box. I write things like this on the back cover so I dont have to dig for it.

I have aftermarket locking lugs that were on the truck when I bought it, how does that change things ?? No integral washer
Seems like the 2004 was 150 so thats what I went with on the 2011..
I'm in Orlando right now in the Kenworth no access to my owners manual..
My torque wrench doesn't go that high. I just screwed the handle as far as I could. got it close. That's some serious torque to remove a wheel with that lug wrench LOL
My '06 F350 with 18" aluminum wheels was 150. My '11 F250 is 165 also with 18" aluminum wheels. Both recommended a single drop of oil on the nut/washer combo. I suspect that 150 lb ft would be just as good as 165 for the 'average' user.
I think my dealer used 300+ lb ft on the rears when I had it serviced last spring as I needed a 4' cheater on a 2' breaker bar as my Harbor Freight 'Earthquake' gun wouldn't begin to move them at the high setting and 150 pounds of air
