93 Aerostar 4WD

Hi folks! I have a 93 Aerostar 4WD and the front differential is leaking fluid. I suspect a pinion oil seal - I had the drive shaft oil seal replaced a few years ago. Anyone know if this is extremely difficult to do? I'm pretty sure I don't need to drop the diff. Likely just raise the vehicle and pry out the axel assy. But will there be enough slack just raising the front end, or do I need to drop the control arm as well?
Thanks.
