I have a 96 Ford F-250 7.3
The overdrive light is flashing when it acts up (shifting hard) I was told it was the vss so I replaced it. It's doing the same thing except now when I go over 40 mph the speedometer jumps all over and still shifts hard. The fuses in slots 18 and 8 are good I was told they could be the problem.
I went to a shop that can read transmission coads and they guy told me it was the speed sensor and that's all the codes it threw. could it be the speed sensor on the transmission?
When I pulled the vss it seemed to have grey stuff or metal shaving on the magnet could that be messing with the signal, or why would there be metal shavings?
