Got my new glass in, finally everything worked out ok with a little tweeking. Painted my inside doors. Started to put my window crank on and the handle shaft is not long enough. The drivers side doesn't stick out far enough to push in the trim and get the pin in. Anyone else ever run into this? As I have said before, everything I do on this truck gives me fits. Truck from hell.
Not sure that I am reading your problem correctly.
There are 2 different spring loaded trim rings available that you compress to install the pin holding the handle on the square shank. The ones for the deluxe cabs are shorter and compress further to allow for the door trim. I used them on my truck since I have custom door panels. I got mine from Carpenter.
Thanks for the response Bill. The handle shaft for the door handle I longer than the shaft for the window crank. Passenger door is fine. looks like someone has installed a regulator from a car or older truck. Everything bolts up correctly and the window operates smooth. Since the machine screws holding the regulator on are so short , the regulator must be installed all the way or the screws wouldn't even start in the holes.
