Jose says his 92 had one belt. Adam says his 92 has two belts. It seems Ford went from two belts to one belt in the middle of the 92 model year?
Here’s my problem.
I’m trying to get together the parts that will be necessary to replace my 29 year old A/C compressor when it finally goes out. This is a dealer installed system. The problem is the compressor (the black one, a HR980) is no longer available in the configuration for the Aerostar. To use an available compressor, which I assume is a factory installed replacement, I will have to change the mounting bracket, but I also have to be sure the belt will line up. So I need to know what years have the 4 mounting bolt compressor with a separate belt for the power steering when I hunt the junk yards for the bracket.
From the information you guys have provided, it appears that I have to find a bracket from an 87 to early 92.
